Do you groom older dogs and puppies?
Yes, we have no age restriction on dogs we groom. However, senior dogs and puppies
do take longer to groom. Many seniors find it difficult to stand for the entire grooming session and puppies tend to move
around a lot wanting to play. Because of these issues, some puppy grooming sessions may be difficult to achieve the perfect
trim but with time, puppies know what to expect and stop squirming as much. Our seniors comfort
is taken into account and more time may be needed for the most senior dogs.
Why should I schedule another appointment rather than call when I'm
ready?
It is always our clients
decision to reschedule. We realize people have a lot on their minds and it is easy to forget. As a courtesy, at the end of
each appointment, we ask our clients if they would like to reschedule. Rescheduling also avoids not having your chosen time
available. As holidays near, we become extremely busy.
My pet has a lot of mats / tangles. Is it necessary to shave them out?
It depends on the severity of the matting
or tangling. Minor mats may sometimes be worked out but many times shaving is necessary. Sever mats can cause skin irritations
and hide other conditions such as hot spots, dermatitis, seborrhea, cuts, scabs, sores or redness. It is not unusual for a
dog to experience skin irritation, redness and itching after being shaved down becasue the skin is being exposed to much needed
air circulation. To help reduce discomfort, apply cool compress to the area and itching should subside within a day or two.
What can I do to keep my pet from matting?
Most importantly,
Brush Them. If you don't have time to brush or comb them, please do not bathe them. Washing a tangled / matted dog will have
the same effect as washing a wool sweater in hot water. The tangles shrink and tighten as they dry. Before bathing, please
completely brush and comb the dog focusing on the areas behind the ears, armpits under the collar and belly. These areas tend
to tangle the most. Ask us to show you the correct combs and brushes to use.

How long will my appointment take?
Your furry friends appointment could be anywhere between 1 to 2+ hours. It all depends on the age, breed, and of course,
services requested. You are always welcome to stay, but its not encouraged. Our waiting room is very small and some dogs see
people in the waiting room and are suddenly ready to go home with anyone! This makes it difficult to keep with our scheduling,
having to calm those rambunctious ones!
What if I don't make it back in time to pick up my dog?
We understand that things can happen at any moment. It makes it tough for us to keep him/her longer. We have no cages and
limited space. If you are late for pick-up, there is a $5.00 charge per 1/2 hour per space.
